I am seeking a position as a Health Care Professional which will utilize my considerable and varying experience in the health care field. I was recently accepted into the very competitive Academic Partnership-Bachelor of Science Online Nursing Program at the University of Texas in Arlington. I am looking to find a position in which I can transition smoothly into my career which will be as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

I perform duties in the areas of fire suppression, rescue, extrication, hazardous materials incidents, and emergency medical services. We provide fire suppression and emergency medical services for the town of Westlake.

Argyle Volunteer Fire District, Argyle, TX: Volunteer Firefighter/ Paramedic (11/08 - 10/10)

While attending fire academy and for a year following I volunteered for the town of Argyle. I perform duties in the areas of fire suppression, rescue, extrication, hazardous materials incidents, and emergency medical services. We provide fire suppression and emergency medical services for the town of Argyle.

Complete Foot and Ankle Care of North Texas, Denton TX: Front Office Coordinator/ Medical Assistant/ Clinical Testing Coordinator (1/06 – 5/11)

I was responsible for all aspects of front office operations, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verifications, collection of payment for services rendered, obtaining patient referrals and well as pre-certifications. I also functioned in the role of medical assistant to the doctors. I roomed patients, took vital signs, collected medical information, changed dressings, and assisted with patient procedures. I also functioned as a clinical testing coordinator and performed nerve and vascular testing on patients.

Lewisville Pain and Imaging Center, Lewisville TX: Office Manager (8/05 – 1/06)

I was responsible for all aspects of front office operations, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verifications, collection of payment for services rendered, obtaining patient referrals and well as pre-certifications. This office closed in January of 2006.

I was responsible for checking patients in and out and collecting office co-pays. I collected an extensive amount of past-due balances on accounts. I also verified eligibility and benefits for each new patient and researched balances on accounts as well as overpayments. I initiated a system to obtain referrals for Insurance and was diligent in keeping them current. I also was responsible for obtaining pre-certification for various types of medical and radiological testing. I scheduled all patient appointments and testing at outpatient facilities. I put all new patient information into the computer as well as answered calls on a multi-line telephone system. I was responsible for forwarding all secondary Insurance claims on to the supplemental Insurance companies. I also, when need be, would take patients back to the rooms and collect vital signs and medical histories.

I was responsible for the day-to-day office operations of the clinic. I called to verify insurance information for patients including eligibility and benefits for all major insurance companies as well as Medicare and Medicaid.
